{"id":395438,"date":"2025-10-23T13:37:13","date_gmt":"2025-10-23T13:37:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.agsmovers.com\/?p=395438"},"modified":"2025-10-23T13:37:13","modified_gmt":"2025-10-23T13:37:13","slug":"ags-togo-venice-architecture-biennale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.agsmovers.com\/news\/ags-togo-venice-architecture-biennale\/","title":{"rendered":"AGS supports Togo\u2019s debut at the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Centred around the theme, \u201cConsidering Togo\u2019s Architectural Heritage,\u201d the pavilion explores the relationship between traditional building techniques and modern architecture through a series of suspended textile banners.<\/p>\n<p>Each banner features two photographs of iconic Togolese buildings, ancient and modern, and is weighted down by traditional pottery.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"bpost\">Bringing the pavilion to life with teamwork<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2637 alignright ls-is-cached lazyloaded\" style=\"margin-left: 30px; margin-top: 20px;\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/fragile-items-packing-services.jpg\" alt=\"AGS provides expert packing services for fragile items and goods that need more care in the transport stage\" width=\"375\" height=\"249\" data-src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/fragile-items-packing-services.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The exhibit was commissioned by Sonia Lawson, founding director of Togo\u2019s first arts and culture centre, the Palais de Lom\u00e9.\u00a0 It is as striking as she imagined, but to make her vision a reality demanded <a href=\"\/our-services\/destination-support\/\">expert logistical support<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To safely fly the exhibition pieces from Lom\u00e9 to Venice, including the 35 handmade clay pots, the AGS Togo team custom-built three wooden crates lined with foam. They then inserted robust lattices of liners and paper, specially made to hold each pot snugly in place.<\/p>\n<p>With guidance from AGS\u2019s <a href=\"\/additional-services\/fine-art\/\">dedicated fine-art division<\/a>, they also completed the exhaustive documentation required to comply with Togolese and Italian regulations. This included preparing a detailed packing list, a pro forma invoice, and a global inventory containing each item\u2019s construction material, weight, age, and provenance.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the fine-art division leveraged its international network to select a specialised agent capable of transporting the fragile shipment from Milan airport to the exhibition hall in Venice.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"bpost\">Navigating the last mile<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2637 alignright ls-is-cached lazyloaded\" style=\"margin-left: 30px; margin-top: 20px;\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/venice-architecture-biennale-2025.jpg\" alt=\"The debut of AGS Togo with their first-ever architecture pavilion at the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale\" width=\"375\" height=\"249\" data-src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/venice-architecture-biennale-2025.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This last leg was highly symbolic, traversing the historic canals of Venice to deliver the exhibit in two of the city\u2019s iconic black gondolas.
